The Campbellville Polyclinic is nearing completion, while the Dorothy Bailey Health Centre is next in line for a major upgrade as the government continues to expand and modernize primary healthcare services across the country.

Health Minister Dr. Frank Anthony says approximately $190 million has been allocated to upgrade the Dorothy Bailey Polyclinic. This upgrade will bring the facility in line with the modern standards being introduced at healthcare facilities nationwide.

“The Government of Guyana through the Ministry of Health will be investing close to 190 million dollars in upgrading the Dorothy Bailey facility , that will include adding a completely new building in the compound and repairing some of the existing building that we have there,” he said.

Meanwhile, construction on the Campbellville Polyclinic is in its final stages. Once completed, the facility will feature modern amenities, upgraded medical equipment, and an expanded range of services aimed at improving access to quality primary healthcare for residents.

At Campbellville we’ve been working to complete the Polyclinic so in another couple of months we should be finished and we will get it operational,” he stated.

These investments are part of the government’s broader vision of achieving universal access to healthcare.
