Since opening on August 11, the De Kinderen Regional Hospital in Region Three has attended to more than 8,000 patients.
Over 500 individuals have visited the radiology department, nearly 100 patients have received care in the intensive care unit (ICU), and approximately 100 births have been recorded—including 11 over the past weekend.
President Dr. Irfaan Ali, over the weekend, made an impromptu visit to the facility, where he met with patients, their families, and hospital staff.

Hospital staff informed President Ali that each doctor attends to an average of 25 patients per day shift (and two doctors during the night shift), while the Radiology Department conducts roughly 10 CT scans daily.
Before the hospital opened, patients had to travel to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) for these services.
President Ali commended the staff for their dedication and stressed the importance of delivering quality care close to home.
