-to allow for smooth cash grant distributions

President Dr. Irfaan Ali says that announcements pertaining to the distribution of cash grants and the overall empowerment of every Guyanese will be made before the end of this year.

During an announcement on Wednesday evening, the President explained, that relief measures to be announced will not be one-off but will be for the government’s five-year term in office.

President Ali is urging every Guyanese to open a bank account to allow for monies disbursed by the Government to be transferred in a more organized fashion.

Last year, Government distributed $100,000 in cash grants to every adult Guyanese. This initiative was complimented with the $50,000 Because We Care student grant, the $100,000 Newborn Grant along with several other social support programmes aimed at providing meaningful relief and empowerment to various groups across Guyana.
