The One Guyana Basketball Premier League resumes this weekend after a midseason break, and standout individual performances are driving the excitement.
The Worthmanville Pacesetters and the Stabroek Eagles have been the dominant teams, with several players impressing in various categories.
Zian Gray of the Stabroek Eagles has been particularly notable, leading the league with a total of 80 points, far surpassing the competition.
Delroy Critchlow of the Guardians follows with 54 points, and Dennis Niles from the Nets has accumulated 45 points.
Gray has also excelled in shooting, leading in two-point field goals with 32 made shots and in free throws with 16 successful attempts.
Niles of the Nets, however, has been the most efficient beyond the arc, making 8 three-pointers from 25 attempts.
Defensively, Nduka Horatio of the Guardians has been dominant on the boards, recording a total of 50 rebounds, with his teammate Critchlow closely following with 47.
Travis Belgrave from the Eagles leads the league in defensive rebounds with 31, while Horatio also holds the record for offensive rebounds with 37.
Belgrave has also proven to be a formidable defender, leading the league in steals with 19.
Akeem Miggins from the Black Caimans leads in blocks with 6.
As the season enters its second half, the Worthmanville Pacesetters remain unbeaten with a perfect 5-0 record in the Harpy Eagles Conference, while the Stabroek Eagles are also undefeated at 4-0 and the Royals are 3-0 in the Jaguars Conference.
