Rotaract Club of New Amsterdam Unveils Peace Pole to Promote Unity

The Rotaract Club of New Amsterdam has unveiled a peace pole at the New Amsterdam Recreational Park, aligning with a global initiative to promote peace and understanding.

This project, part of Rotary International’s worldwide effort, contributes to the more than 200,000 peace poles erected across 200 countries.

The unveiling coincided with World Peace and Understanding Day, observed annually on February 23rd to commemorate the founding of Rotary International and reaffirm its commitment to fostering global harmony.

Minister of Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh, commended the initiative, highlighting the peace pole’s role as a lasting symbol of the community’s commitment to peace.

He emphasized its importance in serving as a reminder for future generations to embrace unity and compassion.

Vice President of the New Amsterdam Rotaract Club, Molandra Simon, reaffirmed the club’s dedication to promoting peace through volunteerism and service.

She noted that the peace pole stands as a representation of their ongoing efforts to cultivate a culture of harmony within the community.

The Rotaract Club remains committed to initiatives that encourage peacebuilding, demonstrating its continued role in creating positive change through service and community engagement.
