Preparations for the Mashramani 2025 parade, scheduled for February 23, are well underway, with key stakeholders engaged in finalizing logistics to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration.
The Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports has confirmed that the road march route will remain unchanged from last year.
During a recent stakeholder meeting, officials emphasized their commitment to delivering a well-organized event, prioritizing security and public safety.
The Guyana Fire Service will play a crucial role in the festivities, monitoring all entrances and exits along the parade route.
Firefighting appliances and ambulances will also be on standby to address any emergencies.
At the National Park, where the parade will culminate, Security Manager at the Protected Areas Commission, Mark Lewis, assured that the venue is fully prepared and will be sanitized before and after the event.
He also urged patrons to respect the facilities, particularly the washrooms, to prevent damages that often incur additional costs after large gatherings.
Meanwhile, Chief Medex at the Ministry of Health, Carleen Howard, advised individuals with health concerns to prioritize their well-being during the celebrations.
Medics will be stationed along key points of the parade route, including Forshaw and Vlissengen Road and Lamaha and Vlissengen Road, with advanced medical centers set up at the National Park.
Ambulances will also be deployed to provide emergency assistance if needed.
Commander of Regional Division 4A, Michael Kingston, assured that security measures are fully in place, with law enforcement maintaining a 100% secure posture throughout the event.
Traffic regulations and advisories will be issued to ensure smooth movement and minimize congestion during the celebrations.
With these preparations in motion, organizers remain focused on ensuring that Mashramani 2025 is a well-coordinated and festive occasion for all attendees.
