January 23, 2025

The West Indies cricket team is gearing up for the second Test match against Pakistan, hoping to level the series after suffering a heavy 127-run defeat in the first encounter.

Batsman Alick Athanaze emphasized the team’s need to adapt quickly in order to stand any chance of success in the upcoming match.

Following their loss in the first Test, the West Indies are determined to focus on playing to their strengths and executing better in all aspects of the game.

With spin bowling expected to dominate once again in the second Test, Athanaze stressed the importance of brave shot selection, especially after seeing spinners claim 34 of the 40 wickets in the first match.

Reflecting on his performance in the first Test, Athanaze, who scored 55 in the second innings, is determined to improve should he be called upon again.

He expressed confidence in his form, saying he feels “good” and is ready for the challenges ahead.

The second Test match will commence on Friday, January 25, in Multan, with the West Indies hoping to bounce back and level the series.
