Linden’s Bauxite Sector Sees Remarkable Growth in 2024

January 14, 2025

Linden’s bauxite sector has emerged as one of the standout success stories for the Ministry of Natural Resources in 2024, with a significant 225% increase in production.

Production soared from just over 500,000 tonnes in 2023 to a staggering 1.7 million tonnes in 2024.

At a year-end press conference, Minister of Natural Resources, Hon. Vickram Bharrat, highlighted the role of the Linden-based BOSAI Minerals Group Incorporated in this impressive achievement.

He noted that BOSAI had made substantial investments in its operations at the Montgomery mines and the Linden plant.

These efforts have resulted in a steady increase in bauxite output over the past few years.

With this growth in production, BOSAI has also contributed to job creation, now employing over 1,000 people from Region 10.

Minister Bharrat emphasized that the company’s production exceeded its set targets, marking a key milestone for the sector.

In addition to current expansions, BOSAI is working on the Metallurgical Bauxite Project, which aims to further boost bauxite production and create even more local employment opportunities.

This ambitious project includes the construction of a new wharf and a 20-kilometre conveyor belt system to transport bauxite from the mines, with a goal to expand production capacity to 3 million tonnes per year.
