Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Sonia Parag, recently visited the construction site of the Port Mourant Secondary School in Berbice, providing an update on the extension works.
She noted that the project is nearing completion, with significant progress made since her last visit about a month ago.
At that time, the roof was still being installed, but now, the roof and flooring are complete.
The remaining tasks include finalizing electrical work, with the project expected to be completed in the coming weeks.
In addition to her site visit, Minister Parag led a two-day outreach to regions five and six.
During this outreach, she also visited various registration sites for the government’s 100,000-dollar cash grant.
Parag encouraged citizens to remain patient as the registration process continues, assuring them that the government is committed to ensuring all eligible individuals have the opportunity to benefit from the grant.
She emphasized that the government is dedicated to capturing everyone eligible, allowing them to share in the country’s resources.
The registration process for the cash grant remains ongoing, with efforts to ensure all qualifying citizens are included.
