In his New Year’s Day message, President Dr. Irfaan Ali outlined several interventions aimed at advancing the livelihoods of citizens, which will be implemented throughout 2025.

He emphasized that the government is committed to creating a transformed Guyana where every citizen, including women and youth, can “live their best lives.”

President Ali expressed optimism about the prospects for wealth development in the country, noting that educational advancements are at the top of the government’s agenda.

By the end of 2025, over 35,000 citizens are expected to secure GOAL Scholarships through the Guyana Online Academy of Learning.

Additionally, a new digital school will be launched, focusing on core subjects like mathematics and offering advanced pathways to ease the burden of student loan repayments.

In the housing sector, the President confirmed that the government will surpass its goal of distributing 50,000 house lots by the end of the year, bringing the nation closer to the vision of every Guyanese family owning a home.

Another major initiative is the launch of the Global Biodiversity Alliance, ensuring that environmental safety remains a key priority as the country develops.

President Ali also previewed the forthcoming budget, which will include a “bold and comprehensive agenda” aimed at promoting social development, economic growth, personal well-being, and community upliftment.
