The ‘Immersion: Into the Jungle’ exhibition has drawn widespread attention for its fusion of art and technology, offering visitors an interactive and multi-sensory experience.

Held at the National Art Gallery, Castellani House, from November 26 to December 17, the exhibition showcased innovative approaches to visual storytelling through augmented reality, projection mapping, and interactive installations.

Organized by Artistic Director Maharanie Jhillu, Engineer Akash Bridgemohan, and Curator Pekahiah James, the exhibition aimed to explore how technology can enhance traditional artistic expression rather than replace it.

Visitors engaged with digital features that brought artwork to life, including an augmented reality application that animated images upon scanning.

The exhibition featured works from 35 Guyanese artists, displaying a diverse range of mediums such as acrylic and oil paintings, canvas art, leatherwork, charcoal drawings, and ceramics.

By incorporating technological elements, the event underscored the evolving relationship between art and digital innovation, offering a fresh perspective on creative expression in the modern era.
