The Bamia Nursery and Primary Schools brought the Christmas spirit to life on Thursday evening with their inaugural tree-lighting ceremony held on the school compound.
Organized by the Bamia Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Committee, the event was inspired by Teacher Lorna, who proposed the idea of celebrating the holiday with a special activity.
With support from Minister Juan Edghill and corporate sponsors in Linden, the festive celebration became a reality, spreading joy among students, parents, and teachers.
The program included lively Christmas-themed activities, highlighted by a storytelling session led by Pastor Leroy James.
The pastor encouraged attendees to reflect on the season’s true meaning, emphasizing themes of love, sharing, and togetherness.
Cultural presentations added to the festive atmosphere, and children were delighted with goodie bags and gifts before participating in the countdown to light the Christmas tree.
Traditional carols and opportunities to take photos with Santa further enriched the evening’s celebrations.
The Bamia PTA Committee expressed its hopes of making the tree-lighting ceremony an annual tradition, bringing the community together to embrace the spirit of the holiday season for years to come.
