Basketball fans were treated to an exciting evening on Wednesday at the National Gymnasium as the One Guyana Basketball League delivered two thrilling matchups.
Both the Plaisance Guardians and the Prospect Kobras emerged victorious in their respective games, showcasing skill and determination on the court.
In the first game, the Plaisance Guardians dominated the Black Caimans with an impressive 81-53 win.
The Guardians’ fast-paced offense and suffocating defense left the Caimans struggling to find their rhythm.
Delroy Critchlow led the charge for the Guardians with an outstanding 23-point performance, supported by Joel McPhoy and Kadeem Beckles, who contributed 17 and 12 points, respectively.
The second game of the evening saw the Prospect Kobras edge out the Masters in a closely contested battle, finishing with a 62-52 victory.
Trevor Smith was instrumental in the Kobras’ success, delivering a game-high 21 points.
Despite a valiant effort by the Masters, with Stephon Gillis scoring 18 points and Leon Richards adding 14, they fell short against the Kobras’ disciplined play during crucial moments.
The One Guyana Basketball League resumes this weekend with four games scheduled across Saturday and Sunday, promising more action-packed encounters.
