At the Guyana Police Force’s (GPF) Annual Christmas Awards Ceremony, over 5,000 ranks were honored for their exceptional service and dedication throughout the year.
The event, held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Eve Leary, saw the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) take center stage with notable recognitions.
Cadet Officer David Prince, a key figure in the CID and Deputy Head of the Narcotics Branch, was named the Best Cop for 2024.
Prince, who is trained in narcotics by the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), led several high-impact operations, including the recovery of firearms and narcotics.
He expressed his gratitude during his acceptance, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and community cooperation in fulfilling the police force’s mission to protect and serve.
Detective Inspector Krishna Seetaram of the CID was recognized as the runner-up for the Best Cop award, marking a significant achievement for the department in 2024.
The ceremony also acknowledged various divisions, sports personalities, and individuals within the business sector, faith-based leaders, and youth groups for their contributions to the community.
A total of $173 million in incentives was disbursed to the ranks and officers.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Ravindradat Budhram commended the officers for their commitment, highlighting their dedication as the driving force behind the GPF’s successes.
The ceremony not only celebrated operational excellence but also recognized efforts in sports and community development.
The GPF continues to uphold its commitment to excellence, with the awards ceremony serving as a reminder of the unwavering dedication of its ranks in service to the citizens of Guyana.
