Rangpur Riders earned their place in the final of the ExxonMobil Global Super League (GSL) after defeating Lahore Qalandars by 23 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain-affected semi-final at the National Stadium in Providence.
Batting first, Rangpur Riders were off to a promising start, reaching 85 for 1 after nine overs.
However, rain forced a second adjustment, reducing their total overs from 16 to nine.
Steven Taylor top-scored for Rangpur with 32 runs, supported by Saif Hassan, who chipped in with 27.
The lone wicket for Lahore Qalandars was claimed by Mirza Bain.
The revised target for Lahore Qalandars was set at 111 runs, but they struggled from the outset.
Lahore lost three wickets in the first over, leaving them with just one run on the board.
They continued to falter as two more wickets fell in the third and seventh overs, putting them at 67 for 5 with just 12 balls remaining.
Rangpur Riders kept their composure in the final overs, taking two more wickets to restrict Lahore Qalandars to 87 for 7 in their allotted nine overs.
Baig top-scored for Lahore with 31 runs, while Tom Abell (25) and Faheem Ashraf (18) made some contributions.
For Rangpur Riders, Mahedi Hasan was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 11 runs from his two overs.
Zak Chappell provided support with 2 wickets for 17 runs.
With this victory, Rangpur Riders secured their spot in the final, finishing second in the group stage after winning their final two matches.
The Riders will now face Victoria in the Global Super League final.
