The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced the launch of seven new tourism experiences aimed at diversifying and expanding the country’s tourism portfolio.

The new offerings were unveiled on Thursday, marking a significant step in showcasing Guyana’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to the world.

The newly introduced experiences were developed in partnership with local tour operators and include the Jonestown Memorial Tour with Wanderlust Adventures GY, Guyana Biking Adventure with Atta Rainforest Lodge (Iwokrama River Lodge), Kato Hiking & ATV Adventure with Patamona Tours, and the Jaguar Tour with Adventure Guianas.

Kamrul Baksh, Director of the GTA, praised the efforts of the local operators involved in bringing these experiences to the travel marketplace.

He emphasized that these new products contribute to the growth of Guyana’s tourism sector by providing more unique and diverse ways for visitors to explore the country.

This initiative is part of the GTA’s ongoing efforts to diversify the country’s tourism offerings.

Baksh highlighted the GTA’s product development grant, launched two years ago, which played a role in supporting the creation of several of these new products.

The grant aims to stimulate creativity among operators and provide financial assistance to those with promising ideas.

With the addition of these new experiences, the GTA has now launched a total of 15 tourism products in 2024 and 64 since 2020, underscoring the continued growth and innovation within Guyana’s tourism industry.
