The inaugural Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) National T20 League is set for a thrilling finale as the Essequibo Jaguars and Anacondas prepare to face off on Saturday at Providence Stadium.

Both teams secured their spots in the final with impressive victories in the semi-finals held on Friday evening.

In the first semi-final, the Jaguars overcame the Berbice Piranhas by four wickets, successfully chasing down a modest target of 110.

Adrian Sukwah’s solid 46 set the foundation, while Jonathan Rampersaud’s vital 4-wicket haul and Ashmead Nedd’s 3-14 were key to stifling the Piranhas’ batting efforts.

In the second semi-final, the Anacondas triumphed with a commanding 49-run victory over the Demerara Pitbulls.

Batting first, the Anacondas posted 150-8, with Quentin Sampson leading the charge, scoring 47 off 26 balls.

Despite a strong start from the Pitbulls, a sudden collapse saw them all out for just 101 in 15.5 overs.

Sampson continued his excellent form with the ball, taking 3-6, and Keemo Paul contributed with 2-21 to seal the win.

The losing semi-finalists, the Pitbulls and Piranhas, will compete in the third-place playoff, while the final will take place at 19:00 hours at the same venue.

The day’s festivities will also include a women’s exhibition match.

The GCB National T20 League is sponsored by BetCageSport and endorsed by the Government of Guyana.
