The Ministry of Education’s TVET Unit is hosting the second annual National Visual Arts Fair and Exhibition at the National Gallery of Art, Castellani House, showcasing the incredible talent of students from across Guyana.

The exhibition, running until November 16, features a diverse collection of paintings, drawings, and handmade crafts, and this year’s theme is “Breaking Barriers.”

The event offers an interactive experience for students, allowing them to engage with each other, learn from different artistic practices, and display their creative works.

Sherry-Dale Trim, an exhibitor, expressed the impact of the exhibition, noting that it provided a platform for students to share ideas and creative processes.

Andrew Chase, the Coordinator of the Visual Arts Programme at CPC, shared his excitement, saying the exhibition has been heartwarming, witnessing the growing innovation and creativity in Guyana.

He emphasized the importance of this platform in fostering artistic development.

Lori Ann Jacobs, Visual Arts Education Officer, highlighted that the exhibition aims to showcase diverse creative expressions and reflect the nation’s commitment to comprehensive visual arts education.

In recognition of exceptional performance in the Caribbean Examinations Council’s CSEC exams, 15 students and 22 schools were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements in Visual Arts.
