Digital X-Ray Machine Boosts Efficiency at Linden Hospital Complex

By Tracey Liverpool | November 5, 2024

A year after the installation of a state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine at the Linden Hospital Complex, the impact on patient care has been remarkable.

According to Senior Radiographer Corrette Whyte, the advanced technology has significantly increased the hospital’s capacity and improved diagnostic processes.

The digital x-ray machine, installed on October 28, 2023, under the leadership of President Dr. Irfaan Ali, has doubled the hospital’s productivity.

In the past year, it has allowed the facility to conduct 8,847 x-ray exams, a substantial increase from 3,450 during the previous period.

This upgrade has provided faster and clearer images, leading to quicker diagnoses and treatment plans.

Unlike traditional x-ray machines, the new device is capable of rotating to capture images of accident victims without requiring them to be moved, making it especially effective in trauma cases.

The clearer and more adjustable images from the digital machine have reduced the need for repeat x-rays and lowered radiation exposure for patients.

This advancement has enhanced doctors’ ability to detect and monitor conditions with greater efficiency and accuracy.

The digital x-ray machine has been lauded by both staff and patients for its contribution to improving the quality and speed of care at the Linden Hospital Complex.

It stands as a key example of the hospital’s commitment to advancing healthcare services for the community.
