GFF Launches CONCACAF C Licensing Coaches Training Programme to Elevate Football Standards

October 29, 2024

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has launched the CONCACAF C Licensing Coaches Training Programme at the National Training Centre (NTC) in Providence, marking an important step in enhancing the coaching standards within the country’s football scene.

This program aims to improve coaching capabilities, especially for clubs in the Elite League, ensuring that they meet the licensing standards set by CONCACAF.

These standards are vital for teams hoping to participate in regional tournaments like the Caribbean Shield.

GFF President Wayne Forde praised the commitment of the coaches enrolled in the programme, recognizing their dedication to player development.

He emphasized that the investment of time and resources by the coaches reflects their passion for improving the quality of football across all levels.

The C Licence, which is internationally recognized by CONCACAF, provides coaches with the necessary skills to conduct practical training sessions that cater to various player needs.

This course is the first to include a registration fee, which further underscores the commitment of the coaches taking part.

The training programme, which spans several days, will consist of both practical and classroom sessions, delivered by experienced trainers from CONCACAF and the GFF.

The goal is for all participants to meet the required standards and enhance their coaching knowledge.

Since the introduction of the D Licence in 2015, the GFF has now expanded its coaching certification offerings with the C Licence, with over 120 coaches having already completed their certifications.

This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the GFF to improve football standards in Guyana and to ensure that local coaches are equipped with the skills necessary for developing the next generation of football talent.
