GFF President Responds to Allegations of Mismanagement and Resignation Calls

October 28, 2024

Wayne Forde, the President of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF), has addressed recent controversies regarding the federation, including claims of mismanagement in player payments and questions about Head Coach Jamaal Shabazz’s future.

Forde clarified that all payments to senior national players for their participation in the CONCACAF Nations League were made on time, rejecting the allegations made by a local newspaper.

Forde also tackled the matter of Shabazz’s position, stating that there has been no formal decision to part ways with the coach and no announcement has been made on that front.

In response to ongoing calls for his resignation amid the controversy, Forde dismissed the requests, suggesting that concerns should be raised through appropriate channels.

He is currently in his third term as GFF president.
