Residents of Wakenaam, Region Three, recently participated in a community outreach initiative organized by the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security.

This event provided valuable information about the range of services available to the public at no cost.

The outreach highlighted various programs, including those aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities through the Learning Laboratory and Family Enhancement Services.

In conjunction with Child Protection Week, the Minister of Human Services and Social Security, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, emphasized the importance of reporting any cases of child abuse.

She encouraged residents to adopt a proactive approach in safeguarding their children by promptly reporting such incidents.

The Minister also took the opportunity to inform women about the growing number of training programs offered by the government, urging them to take advantage of these opportunities.

She stressed the significance of financial stability and independence, noting that having these resources is crucial for personal security.

During the outreach, residents voiced their concerns regarding Public Assistance and Pensions, which were addressed by representatives from the Ministry.
