Minister Edghill Engages Region Ten Residents on Development Plans

Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, met with residents of Region Ten during a visit to Linden on Thursday, reaffirming the government’s commitment to continued development in the mining town.

Minister Edghill also engaged with Member of Parliament Jermaine Figueira and other key stakeholders to address the recent flooding in the area.

The minister emphasized the importance of collaboration with all parties dedicated to the region’s development.

Invitations were extended to the Mayor, Regional Chairman, Town Clerk, Regional Executive Officer, and other local leaders to discuss the way forward.

Minister Edghill highlighted ongoing efforts to expand infrastructure in the region, including projects in Kwakwani, Ituni, and along the Berbice River.

New wharves and landing areas are also planned for residents of Malali and Muritaro, with $13 million allocated for these initiatives in the coming weeks.

The development plans are part of a broader effort to enhance various sectors across the region, ensuring that Region Ten receives its fair share of national development.
