Major Road Construction Begins in White Water Village, Region One

As part of its commitment to infrastructural development in hinterland regions, the government has initiated significant construction works on access roads in White Water Village, Region One.

This project fulfills a promise made by President Irfaan Ali during a meeting with local residents earlier this year.

The first phase of the project will involve the construction of one kilometer of reinforced concrete road within the village, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Toshao Andrew Cox highlighted the challenges faced by the community, particularly during the rainy season when roads become muddy and slushy, making travel hazardous for both pedestrians and vehicles.

Cox expressed optimism about the new road project, stating that it will greatly improve access and mobility for residents.

Currently, 50 residents from White Water Village have been employed for the construction, providing a boost to local employment and economic relief for families.

The project is being executed through the village council, with technical support and resources provided by the Ministry of Public Works.

This development marks a significant step forward in improving infrastructure in the region, ensuring that residents can travel more safely and efficiently.
