Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, is currently leading a Tourism, Trade, and Investment Mission to Guyana, which will conclude on Friday.
This initiative is part of Grenada’s efforts to strengthen economic and social ties with Guyana through a series of events aimed at promoting Grenada’s offerings.
The delegation, which includes Minister for Economic Development, Planning, Agriculture and Lands, Lennox Andrews, and Minister of Tourism, The Creative Economy, and Culture, Adrian Thomas, is organized by the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Grenada Chamber of Industry & Commerce (GCIC).
The mission also features stakeholders from Grenada’s tourism and trade sectors who are exploring opportunities in the Guyanese market.
The four-day mission includes a Trade Expo, a Business Forum, and the “Taste of Grenada” event, all designed to showcase Grenadian products and services.
During the Trade Expo, Prime Minister Mitchell highlighted the mission’s role in fostering economic and social connections between the two countries, expressing hope for significant partnerships and collaborative efforts in the future.
In addition to these events, the mission precedes the introduction of a direct flight route between Grenada and Guyana, operated by InterCaribbean Airways, starting on September 28.
This weekly flight aims to enhance connectivity and facilitate easier business and tourism travel between the two nations.
Prime Minister Mitchell expressed optimism about the potential for increased collaboration and partnerships following the mission, reinforcing his commitment to tracking and advancing the relationships established during this visit.
