The Linden Hospital Complex (LHC) held a successful blood donation drive on Wednesday at its reception area, aiming to ensure a steady supply of blood for the National Blood Bank.
The drive, which ran from 9 a.m. to the afternoon, aimed to collect 12 units of blood to support various medical needs.
Cassie Jordan, a Blood Donor Attendant, facilitated the event.
The LHC is dedicated to hosting monthly blood drives to promote voluntary donations and raise awareness about their importance.
In addition to this regular drive, the hospital will also organize a special blood drive at Alya on Friday, specifically for employees and management by invitation.
For those interested in donating, the criteria are as follows:
- Must be 17 years or older (16-year-olds need written parental/guardian consent).
- Must weigh at least 110 pounds.
- Must be in good health, free from blood-borne diseases.
- Must willingly volunteer to donate.
All blood types are welcome.
The hospital’s laboratory accepts donations from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with flexibility for those who cannot meet these hours.
The primary goal of these drives is to ensure a continuous and adequate blood supply for pregnant mothers, accident victims, newborns, and children with various health conditions.
