Upcoming Packaging and Labelling Clinic to Boost Guyanese Product Branding

In a bid to enhance the branding of Guyanese products and expand their reach into regional and international markets, a new packaging and labelling clinic is set to launch in November.

The initiative, part of the Caribbean Agricultural Productivity Improvement Activity (CAPA), aims to help agro-processors improve product standardization and secure better shelf space.

This effort is a collaborative venture involving CAPA, the Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC), the Guyana Economic Development Fund, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The clinic has already attracted interest from approximately 75 Guyanese businesses eager to refine their packaging and labelling strategies.

CAPA’s Programme Director, Sandiford Edwards, highlighted that discussions are underway with a U.S. company seeking Latin American and Caribbean products, further underscoring the potential for Guyanese products to tap into broader markets.

President Irfaan Ali has previously urged agro-processors to adhere to high standards, noting that efforts are being made to establish Guyana Shop corners at major North American airports like JFK and Pearson International.

This initiative aims to showcase Guyanese products, attract more revenue, and capitalize on their unique appeal.
