Fire Destroys Home and Business of East Coast Demerara Family

By Nakasia Logan

A devastating fire early this morning has left a family of six homeless and their business in ruins at Lot 22, Block 12, Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara.

The blaze destroyed their home and their pillow and furniture factory, leaving them in urgent need of assistance.

The family, which includes Amesha Jangber, her husband Mohammed Azad Ali, their children Ackeema Ali (3), Brienne Wallace (6), Ackeem Ali (22), and a nephew, was left to salvage what they could as flames rapidly consumed their property.

The fire reportedly started when a malfunctioning machine in their backyard ignited, quickly spreading to nearby materials.

Amesha Jangber described the chaos as she and her workers attempted to control the fire with water, but their efforts were in vain.

The fire spread too quickly, forcing them to evacuate and seek help from neighbors.

Trinilall Puran, the family’s neighbor, witnessed the fire as he was preparing to leave his home.

He attempted to help by moving what he could from the burning building but was unable to prevent the extensive damage.

The fire not only destroyed the family’s home and business but also caused significant damage to several surrounding buildings.

The affected family is now seeking support and assistance from the community.

Anyone wishing to help can contact Amesha Jangber or Mohammed Azad Ali at 656-3002.

For those interested in providing aid, the family’s immediate needs are critical as they begin the process of rebuilding their lives from this unfortunate incident.
