Ministry of Human Services Takes Outreach Services to Bareroot Residents

By Samuel Gillis

The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security extended its services to residents of Bareroot, East Coast Demerara, as part of its ongoing community outreach initiative.

The outreach provided access to a range of services, including the Difficult Circumstances Unit, the Childcare Protection Agency, and the Family Enhancement and Domestic Violence Services.

Minister of Human Services, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, highlighted the ministry’s efforts to assist vulnerable populations, including senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

The outreach also offered free training programs through the Women Innovation and Investment Network (WIIN) and Empower programs.

The Family Enhancement and Services Section is working with children between the ages of 10 and 17 to address behavioral challenges within families.

Counseling services are also available, providing families with tailored interventions to help resolve issues and foster positive change.

Residents were encouraged to take advantage of the services offered, which can also be accessed at the Palms Geriatric Home on Brickdam.
