Indian Independence Day Celebrated in Georgetown

The High Commission of India celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Georgetown.

The event saw participation from Indian nationals, individuals of Indian origin, and other distinguished guests.

High Commissioner Dr. Amit Telang highlighted India’s impressive economic growth, noting its rise to become the fifth-largest economy globally.

Dr. Telang also expressed appreciation for the support from President Dr. Irfaan Ali and the Guyanese people.

He underscored the strong historical ties between India and Guyana and reaffirmed India’s commitment to promoting global peace and prosperity.
