The first-ever summer camp program held in Region One has successfully concluded, equipping 110 youths with a range of vocational skills.
This initiative, led by the Regional Education Department, offered training in various fields including cake decoration, cosmetology, creative writing, small motor repairs, and barbering.
Participants expressed their enthusiasm for the skills they acquired and their eagerness to apply them in their personal and community lives.
The summer camp represents a significant step towards enhancing vocational education and youth empowerment in the region.
This program marks the beginning of similar summer camps being conducted across other regions in Guyana, with recent activities noted in Timehri on the East Bank of Demerara.
