The grand finale of the 10th anniversary ‘Keep Your Five Alive Futsal Tournament’ is set for Friday, August 23, with Back Circle and Sparta Boss securing their spots after intense semi-final victories at the National Gymnasium.
In the first semi-final, Back Circle edged out Goal is Money with a 4-3 win.
Stephan McLean scored the opening goal for Back Circle in the 14th minute, followed by Simon Moore’s goal in the 18th minute.
Goal is Money managed to score before halftime through Randolph Wagner.
Despite a strong second-half performance from Goal is Money, including an equalizer from Shamar Kulen, Moore’s late goal sealed Back Circle’s victory.
The second semi-final saw Sparta Boss defeat Stabroek Ballers 3-2.
Darran Niles gave Sparta Boss an early lead in the 8th minute, which was briefly canceled out by Mark Joule in the 11th minute.
Soloman Austin’s goal in the 15th minute put Sparta Boss back in front, though Derwin Gorge equalized again.
The match was decided by a late goal from national player Curtez Kellman, securing Sparta Boss’s place in the final.
The final and third-place playoff will take place at the National Gymnasium on August 23.
