The Guyana Boys Under-14 football team is gearing up for the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Challenge Series, set to take place from August 16-24 in Trinidad and Tobago.

Head Coach Levi Brathwaite expressed confidence in his team’s readiness as they continue their training for this important developmental tournament.

The CFU Boys Challenge Series serves as a vital platform for young talents from across the Caribbean to showcase their skills.

This tournament will be a significant opportunity for many of the Guyanese players, as it marks their debut on the international stage.

Coach Brathwaite provided an update on the team’s training, noting that recent sessions have focused on defensive strategies and team cohesion.

He emphasized the progress the players have made, highlighting their improved teamwork despite initially being from diverse regions.

The team, which includes 18 players, will compete in tier 2 of the event.

Their first match is scheduled against Antigua and Barbuda on August 17 at 14:00 hours.

As the tournament approaches, Brathwaite encouraged his players to remain confident and authentic on the field.

He reassured them that nerves are natural, but urged them to focus on their performance and enjoy the experience.
