Schools across Region Six are undergoing major renovations ahead of the new academic year starting in September.
Regional Executive Officer (REO) Narindra Persaud provided an update on the progress, noting that the procurement process was handled by the Ministry of Education, with support from the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) and Ministry engineers.
Persaud highlighted the positive feedback from the community on the works being carried out, expressing satisfaction that they are on track to welcome students for the new term.
Additionally, Minister of Natural Resources, Vickram Bharrat, has ensured that ongoing projects at the Berbice Education Institute include rehabilitating the school’s playground, with efforts focused on landfilling and improving the perimeter fence.
