Lindeners celebrated African culture with a variety of activities on Thursday to mark Emancipation. Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, participated in the festivities, joining citizens in their celebrations.
Community Development Councils (CDCs) across the region organized cook-out competitions in areas including Amelia’s Ward, Andy’s Ville, Block 22, and Sunflower Street.
Minister Edghill visited these communities, engaging with residents and joining the festivities.
In Christianburg, Minister Edghill addressed the significance of Emancipation, highlighting the importance of freedom and unity for Guyanese.
During the Freedom Fest celebration hosted by MP Jermaine Figuera, Minister Edghill made a financial contribution to top NGSA students recognized for their exceptional achievements.
Additionally, he inaugurated a football competition in Amelia’s Ward and contributed to the cash prize.
