The West Indies, having been dismissed for 282 runs, had initially made a strong impression by reducing England to 38 for 3 at the end of day one.
However, England made a formidable comeback on day two, scoring 376 runs before being all out.
Key contributions came from Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Chris Woakes, and Ben Stokes, who collectively amassed 298 runs.
Smith led with a score of 95, followed by Root with 87, Woakes with 62, and Stokes with 54.
For the West Indies, Alzarri Joseph took four wickets for 122 runs, while Jayden Seales claimed three wickets for 79 runs.
Facing a deficit of 94 runs, the West Indies had a rough start to their second innings.
Captain Kraigg Brathwaite was dismissed for a duck after just six deliveries, and Kirk McKenzie soon followed, scoring eight runs from 18 balls.
By stumps on day two, the West Indies were at 33 for 2, with Mikyle Louis (18) and Alick Athanaze (5) still at the crease.
England’s wickets were taken by Chris Woakes and Gus Atkinson.
The West Indies are still trailing by 61 runs.
