In an impressive display of skill and leadership, Mavendra Dindyal guided Guyana’s Under-19 cricket team to a dominant victory over the Leeward Islands at the CWI U19 Super 50 Championship held at Park Hill Field, Colonarie, St Vincent and the Grenadines on Wednesday.

Dindyal, renowned for his batting and captaincy, excelled with the ball, claiming seven wickets for just 24 runs in a remarkable four-over spell.

His exceptional performance included a hat-trick that dismantled the Leeward Islands, leading to their dismissal for 127 runs in 29 overs.

In support of Dindyal’s bowling efforts, Vice-Captain Jonathan Van Lange contributed with two wickets, and Thaddeus Lovell added one, collectively accounting for all ten wickets.

Earlier in the match, Guyana chose to bat first and posted a total of 249 runs from their allotted 50 overs. Van Lange was the top scorer with 77 runs, supported by opener Rampertab Ramnauth, who added 41 runs.

Medium-fast bowler Matthew Miller was the standout performer for the Leeward Islands, taking three wickets for 46 runs in his ten overs.
