West Indies Set for First Test Against England at Lords

By Eric Collymore

West Indies Test captain Kraigg Brathwaite has emphasized that the squad will not take anything for granted as they prepare to face England in the first of their three-match Test series.

The series opener is set to begin on Wednesday at Lords.

As the West Indies gear up for their three-match Test series, team skipper Kraigg Brathwaite has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to execute their game plan.

Reflecting on their test match win against Australia earlier this year, Brathwaite believes that the Caribbean side can draw inspiration from that performance and maintain consistency across all aspects of the game.

Brathwaite stressed the importance of playing consistent cricket and leveraging the team’s past successes to fuel their confidence and determination.

He is optimistic that the squad’s experience and preparation will translate into strong performances on the field.

Additionally, uncapped opener Mikyle Louis is set to make his international debut as West Indies announced their starting eleven for the first Test.

The team includes Kirk McKenzie, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Joshua Da Silva, Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, and Jayden Seales.

The anticipation is high as the West Indies aim to make a strong start in the series against a formidable England side.
