Watooka Day Primary School Student Tops Region in NGSA Results

Eleven-year-old Tavion Hunte of Watooka Day Primary School has emerged as the top performer in Region Ten at this year’s National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA), securing 501 marks and earning a coveted place at Queen’s College.

Tavion, who aspires to become a cardiologist, expressed his anticipation of passing for his first-choice school but was pleasantly surprised to clinch the top spot in the region.

In an interview with NCN, he credited his achievement to prayer and fasting with his mother.

Following closely behind Tavion are Ruth Anderson of Christiansburg Primary School with 499 marks and Jazhika Whittaker of Amelia’s Ward Primary School with 498 marks, securing second and third positions, respectively.

Other notable performers from the region include Nevaeh Anderson and Serene Alleyne with 497 marks, and Tehillah Gasper with 496 marks from various primary schools.

Jonelle Kertzious from Develdt Primary School achieved 495 marks.

Additionally, Roshwan Gonsalves, Felecia Major, and Unique Callender will attend The Bishops’ High School based on their NGSA results.

The results highlight the academic excellence and dedication of Linden’s young students, showcasing their achievements in the national assessment.
