Small Business Owners Empowered Through Procurement Training Program

In a bid to enhance their capabilities in bidding for government contracts, hundreds of small business owners and entrepreneurs participated in the Small Business Procurement Program, a collaborative effort between the Small Business Bureau and the Public Procurement Commission.

The one-day training session aimed to familiarize participants with Guyana’s procurement laws and regulations, equipping them with essential knowledge to navigate the bidding process effectively.

According to Shazim Ibrahim, CEO of the Small Business Bureau, the program not only educates but also provides practical tools for businesses to access contract opportunities efficiently.

During an exclusive interview with NCN NEWS, Ibrahim highlighted the importance of registration with the Small Business Bureau, emphasizing that registered businesses gain direct access to government procurement portals.

This access streamlines the process of bidding for contracts issued by various ministries and agencies.

Ibrahim further disclosed that ongoing training sessions are planned for both small business owners and government officials involved in procurement.

These efforts are geared towards ensuring that all stakeholders understand and utilize the procurement system effectively.
