Cleanup and rebuilding efforts are in full swing in St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Barbados following the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl.
The Category Five storm, which left a trail of destruction, is now on its way to Jamaica.
In St. Vincent & the Grenadines, hundreds of houses, churches, and government buildings have been destroyed or severely damaged.
One fatality has been reported, and many residents remain without power and water, currently seeking refuge in temporary shelters.
Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves announced that reconstruction efforts have begun, utilizing resources from the Contingency Fund.
He also noted the encouraging support from regional countries.
In Barbados, Prime Minister Mia Mottley reported that cleanup operations are underway, with plans to reopen various organizations.
She emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts in restoring normalcy.
As Hurricane Beryl approaches Jamaica, it has intensified into a potentially catastrophic Category Five storm.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has urged citizens in low-lying areas to evacuate and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety as the storm is expected to make landfall on Wednesday.
