The Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre opened its doors for a special sensitization event on Thursday, marking Rehab Week 2024.
Kerianne Richards, Coordinator of Rehab Week, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the center’s comprehensive services and their impact on improving quality of life.
The event showcased interactive exhibits and demonstrations, providing visitors insights into the center’s offerings and educational opportunities.
Devi Beepat, Head Teacher at Harold B Davis Special School within the compound, highlighted the school’s commitment to catering to children with physical and intellectual disabilities, emphasizing developmental milestones from an early age.
Social Worker Odessa Layne outlined the collaborative efforts with various departments like the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security and the National Insurance Scheme, aimed at supporting individuals attending therapy at the center.
Additionally, a blood drive was organized to encourage community participation in making a difference and saving lives.
The Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre continues to lead in providing specialized rehabilitation services, promoting independence, and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and those recovering from injuries.
This year, Rehab Week is themed “Transformative Triumphs: Celebrating the transformative triumphs and successes achieved through rehabilitation journeys.”
