Local musicians, including Calvin Burnett, Bunty Singh, Omaiah Hall, and Nicketa, added to the celebratory ambiance with captivating performances, further enhancing the overall experience for attendees.

Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., expressed his excitement, describing it as a special moment for Guyana.

He highlighted the rare opportunity for the country to host the ICC T20 World Cup, emphasizing that such events are a testament to Guyana’s standing in the global sporting community.

Noting that the last time Guyana hosted a world cup at this level was in 2007, Minister Ramson urged citizens to embrace and support the upcoming tournament.

Former West Indies Captain and ICC T20 World Cup brand Ambassador, Ramnaresh Sarwan, also addressed supporters, urging them to rally behind the West Indies team.

Stressing the importance of fan support, Sarwan encouraged fans to secure their tickets early, ensuring they don’t miss out on the action.

The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup is scheduled to take place from June 1 to 29, featuring six matches in Guyana and a semi-final on June 27 at 10:30 hours.

With excitement building for the tournament, fans are advised to purchase their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
