Stride 592, a community organization dedicated to promoting healthy lifestyles, recently hosted its second “Miles for Moms” event at the National Park, celebrating motherhood and encouraging physical activity among participants.

Founder and Director of Stride 592, Onika Jervis, expressed her excitement about the event, highlighting its significance in bringing the community together to honor mothers.

She emphasized that the event not only provided an opportunity for physical activity but also served as a platform to celebrate and appreciate the nurturing role of mothers.

A notable addition to this year’s event was the “mom celebration circle,” sponsored by the Pandama Retreat and Winery, which provided a special space for mothers to be recognized and appreciated for their contributions to their families and communities.

Kaierouann Imarah Radix, a contestant in the Miss Universe Guyana Pageant and a first-time mom, shared her support for the event, aligning with her platform of supporting NICU mothers.

She emphasized the strength of mothers and the importance of coming together to celebrate and support one another.

The event featured activities for both adults and children, including a kids’ race, a kids’ fun zone, and various giveaways and fun activities for moms.

Plans are already underway for next year’s “Miles for Mom” event, scheduled to take place on the second Saturday in May 2025, promising an even bigger turnout and more opportunities to celebrate motherhood and promote healthy living in the community.
