Strengthening Guyana-China Ties Through Table Tennis

The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and the Peoples Republic of China have joined forces once again to host an inter-organizational event aimed at promoting the sport and establishing frameworks for recreational players to engage in competitive leagues.

The event, held at the Guyana Olympic Association office in Liliendaal, signifies a collaborative effort to foster camaraderie and skill development within the table tennis community.

President of the Guyana Table Tennis Association, Godfrey Munroe, expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for their steadfast support in advancing the sport of table tennis in Guyana.

Ambassador Guo Haiyan echoed Munroe’s sentiments, emphasizing the positive impact of such initiatives on the development of the game.

Director of Sport, Steve Ninvalle, commended the Table Tennis Association for their initiative in organizing the competition.

He highlighted the importance of strengthening bonds between the people of China and Guyana through sports, emphasizing the potential for table tennis to become a medal-winning sport for Guyana.

The competition serves as a platform to enhance cultural exchange and friendship between Guyana and China while providing opportunities for recreational players to showcase their talents and compete in a structured environment.
