28 Berbicians Benefit from GTA Training on Delivery of Quality Service

In a bid to enhance the quality of service in the tourism sector, the Ministry of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce is conducting a two-day training session on the “Delivery of Quality Service” in Region Six.

Taking place at the City Inn Hotel in Line Path on the Corentyne, the training aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to excel in the tourism industry.

Led by the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), the training focuses on areas such as introduction to tourism, customer service, and understanding cultural differences.

Chetnauth Persaud, Senior Training and Tourism Development Officer at the GTA, highlighted that this training marks the first of its kind in Line Path, tailored to address the specific needs of residents in the Upper and Central Corentyne areas.

Persaud emphasized that the feedback from this training will inform future training programs, including tour guide training and first aid and CPR courses.

With 28 individuals participating in the training session, attendees will receive comprehensive insights into the tourism industry, enabling them to better serve visitors and contribute to the growth of the sector.

Persaud expressed satisfaction with the overwhelming response from the public, underscoring the eagerness of Berbicians to enhance their skills and contribute to Guyana’s tourism landscape.

As the training continues to empower individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge, it reinforces the Ministry’s commitment to promoting excellence in service delivery and fostering the development of the tourism sector in Region Six.
