Minister within the Ministry of Housing and Water, Susan Rodrigues, is urging house lot applicants to ensure their contact information is up to date with the Ministry.
During a recent Dream Realised housing initiative in Region Three, Minister Rodrigues emphasized the importance of updated contact information, particularly phone numbers, for house lot applicants.
She highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to reach out to applicants for events like Dream Realised, where they attempt to contact individuals to invite them.
However, out of approximately 3,200 attempted contacts, only just over 1,000 were successful, underscoring the need for updated information.
Minister Rodrigues stressed the significance of keeping contact details current to ensure timely communication regarding house lot allocations.
Failure to provide updated information often results in applicants missing out on important opportunities.
At allocation events, many individuals are not reached due to outdated contact information, leading to confusion and missed opportunities for those affected.
In a recent development, around 1,500 persons received house lots in the New Wales Housing Scheme, aligning with the government’s broader goal of allocating 50,000 house lots within five years.
This initiative emphasizes the government’s commitment to providing housing opportunities for its citizens.
Minister Rodrigues’s call to action highlights the necessity for applicants to proactively update their contact information to facilitate smooth communication and ensure they do not miss out on important housing opportunities.
This initiative serves as a crucial step in ensuring equitable access to housing for all Guyanese citizens.
