An area that was once swampy and bushy at the head of the Retrieve community is now being used as a recreational facility.
Through the Government Community Ground Enhancement program, work was done to improve and maintain the area.
Last year, the site clearing and de-bushing, grading, and fencing of the area turned the space into a prime recreation spot.
These works were completed by the Government of Guyana though its ground enhancement program that saw several other grounds in the region also being developed.
The then swampy ground, which was inactive for four decades is now leveled and covered with sand.

Similarly, Kenetha Fraser, a 100M/200M/Long Jump Athlete, lauded the enhancements, emphasizing the benefits for training grounds.
