The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has successfully concluded a two-day orientation and recruitment drive in Region Six, marking another step in bolstering the aviation sector’s workforce.
Impressed by the performance of applicants who participated in various exercises, including aptitude testing and personal interviews, the GCAA is set to shortlist candidates for training as Aeronautical Information Management Officers and Air Traffic Control Assistants.
The training program, scheduled to commence on May 13, aims to prepare individuals for key roles in aviation operations.
According to Clifford Van Doimen, Principal of the Civil Aviation Training School, approximately five candidates from Region Six will be selected for further training.
The GCAA aims to recruit a total of 15 individuals, with plans to extend the recruitment drive to Region Two.
Successful applicants will receive a stipend during the training period and will be placed at either the Cheddi Jagan or Ogle International Airport upon completion.
They will enjoy competitive remuneration packages and other benefits as part of their employment with the GCAA.
The recruitment drive underscores the GCAA’s commitment to enhancing the aviation sector’s capabilities and ensuring a skilled workforce to support safe and efficient air travel in Guyana.
