President Ali Outlines Vision for Guyana’s Development Beyond 2025 Elections

As Guyana gears up for the 2025 elections, President Irfaan Ali is already looking ahead, pledging to propel the country’s development and strengthen its regional leadership status if re-elected to office.

In an interview on Trinidad & Tobago’s CNC3 Morning Brew with host Hema Ramkissoon, President Ali discussed key policies and initiatives his government plans to prioritize in the coming years.

Reflecting on his first term in office, President Ali emphasized his commitment to building upon the foundation laid during the initial five years.

He highlighted plans for increased investments in vital sectors such as agriculture, education, security, and information and communication technology (ICT), aiming to drive further economic development.

Additionally, President Ali assured citizens of initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of all Guyanese across every administrative region.

“We are working towards growing national wealth,” President Ali affirmed, underscoring his administration’s dedication to fostering prosperity and progress for the nation.

President Ali’s candidacy for the 2025 elections was confirmed by Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), in July 2023.

Dr. Jagdeo commended President Ali’s exemplary performance and leadership qualities demonstrated during his tenure, solidifying his position as the PPP’s presidential candidate.

Throughout his presidency, President Ali has achieved significant milestones, including advocacy on global issues such as climate change and reparations, elevating Guyana’s voice on the international stage.

As Guyana prepares for the upcoming elections, President Ali’s vision for the nation’s future encompasses a comprehensive strategy for continued growth, development, and prosperity, affirming his commitment to advancing Guyana’s position as a leader in the region and beyond.
